I'm a software engineer with over 10 years of experience building products people love to use. I bridge the gap between design and code to create amazing user experiences. My skills cover the full tech stack, helping businesses—from startups to enterprises—grow and scale.

When I'm not coding, I spend time with our pets (7 cats 🐈 and 1 australian shepherd 🐕), learn music (mostly the drums but am always learning theory or other instruments), and play video games.

Tech Stack

My tech stack is broad but I have focused a lot of my career recently on the front-end. I build mainly with React and have used a lot of what modern React apps are built with now - Next.JS, Tailwind, Storybook, RSC's, and more. but have experience with Angular and other newer frameworks like Svelte and Astro too.

On the back-end I prefer Ruby on Rails or Python (Django or Flask) but have experience with other languages and frameworks like Elixir, Go, Kotlin, and Node.

For databases, Postgres has been my go-to (or sqlite for quicker projects). I also have experience working with Docker containers and Kubernetes, building workflows in CI/CD tools, and deploying to cloud providers like AWS, GCP, and Vercel.

Experience

  1. Senior Software Engineer
    Brex

I was first on the Onboarding team, which was responsible for the onboarding flow that built the first impressions for Admins and Employees onboarding to Brex. It was a Growth team, so we experimented with feature flags, A/B testing, and fast iterations to see what worked best.

Then I joined Design Systems, where I got to work a lot more closely with design to help shape the pieces that you see all across Brex today. We also managed Brex.com (built with Next.js and Sanity CMS) and its transition from Netlify to Vercel.

  2. Senior Software Engineer
    Little Caesar's

I was first put on the web team that was responsible for the online ordering experience for customers. We were a small team built and owned online ordering as well as all of the Little Caesar's marketing websites across the world. We built and maintained an internal design system, and built an automated system to launch marketing websites across the world in different languages as the company grew.

Then I was placed on the team building the in-store POS system that was installed on registers, back of house screens (to build orders), and menu systems.

  3. Full Stack React Developer
    Brushfire

During my time here we built a WYSIWYG mobile app editor that organizations use to build mobile applications for events and their attendees. Then we pivoted to building a video streaming platform for events during the COVID pandemic, so organizers could livestream events and have things like reactions and chat available.

  4. Software Engineer
    Rocket Mortgage

I spent all of my time here working on the Servicing side, building internal tools used by team members to help service loans.

  5. Software Engineer
    IHS Automotive

I worked more like a database admin here, managing vehicle segmentation data that were used in reports sent to dealerships and manufacturers every month. I helped build automated reporting systems in Tableau for all Mercedes-Benz dealerships. My last project here I used Python with ML to automate the segmentation process that increased productivity on my team of analysts by 60x (we measured!)
